Brown means “earth” and dominant in nature. For any light colored shirts, this is a very good base color.

Purple is a color of luxury and considered to be very feminine. This can be used as an accent color for ties in a subtle pattern.

Black is the color of professionalism. That is why this is commonly used in business attires as it shows respect, and authority. Black is also the color mostly blended with all the colors in the spectrum.
