Permanent makeup which is also known as cosmetic tattooing or permanent cosmetics . In scientific terms the method is called derma pigmentation, micro pigmentation or micro pigment implantation. It is a modern technique used in makeup where pigments are inserted into the skin’s dermis layer. The procedure is done by makeup technicians who use a variety of methods and machines, including specialized or traditional tattoo or coil machines. In some countries, including the United States , the tattooing inks and the pigments in the inks used, like all cosmetics and color additives, have to pass the FDA and other regulatory agency policies.

The pigmentation may lose color over time, due to exposure to the sun, use of products that containing Retin A or Glycolic, and treatments that are related to skin cell removal. The result usually lasts for 10 years or more before drastically losing color . You may be required to touch up the tattoos if you want to restore the colors but many procedures have lasted a lifetime.
